Troddenvale at Oakley Farm

EST. 2018
Warm Springs, Virginia

An historic farm finds its next chapter as a cidery, welcoming visitors to their stable-turned-cider bar and events celebrating the food, farmers, and community of bucolic Bath County.

Reasons To Go

  • Sip Cider in an Historic Stable

Oakley Farm’s restored 1920s North Stable was reimagined as Troddenvale’s tasting room, where guests can reserve or walk-in for cider flights and shop a curated selection of wine, food, and artisanal gifts.

  • Drop in for Foodlore Fridays

During the summer months, Oakley Farm hosts a weekly celebration of the food and culture of the Allegheny Highlands that’s free to attend, with a local food market, cider and wine bar, as well as airstream kitchen pop-up and live music.

  • Celebrate in the Countryside

Gather your favorite people together and host a special event set against the farm’s romantic rolling hills, orchards, and Colonial Revival manor house.

What Rings True — The Cowbell Difference

“Translated through our cider, we strive to preserve this valley’s treasured history, its spring water, forgotten orchards, and furthermore, we seek an opportunity for new stories to be told - of the land, the soil, and the people.”

— Will and Cornelia Hodges, Co-Owners

Agriculture

Troddenvale at Oakley Farm produces transparency-driven cider with limited-to-no interventions, created from the 2,000 apple trees planted on their land.

Locality

Oakley Farm works with other local farmers through Foodlore Provisions, a weekly online market where shoppers can order produce and products from regional growers, then pick it up at Oakley Farm.

Enrichment

Learn more about the cider-making process and explore Oakley Farm during a private tour–just be sure to arrange it before you go

Will and Cornelia Hodges

Co-owners

Will and Cornelia purchased Oakley Farm, first established in 1834 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, from Will’s grandparents in 2018. They continue its preservation through agriculture, planting four acres of new fruit orchards for Troddenvale’s cider production.
